So I decided to slap some parts together and mount them to my
Magnum II.I took and extra set of Batavus Regency shocks and
mounted those up to check the clearance of the rear tire to the
underside of the seat support on the frame. I also mounted an
extra set of Batavus buddy pegs to the bottom shock mounting
bolts. Last, I threw on an old set of tubes and tires to the Puch
Grimeca 17" 5 star mags that I cleaned up over the weekend
and bolted those on as well.
My first impression sitting on the bike was that this was definitely
an improvement. I was concerned about the bike feeling too small
for someone 6' 2" tall. It was not. It actually seemed more comfortable
and more stable with its now lower profile. I am confident in my
decision to make this a mini-magnum build. I will be ordering:
black adjustable Puch Maxi length shocks,
Maxi length black EBR spring forks. Thanks to the guys
at Orphanage Mopeds in Brooklyn, NY for acquiring these
parts for me.
